Graston Technique Treatment Perth
Is a relatively new soft tissue therapy to be used in
Australia
. It consists of a number of patent stainless steel instruments that are used in the detection and treatment of adhesions that may be found in muscles, tendons and ligaments. These adhesions that occur when the body heals itself and may lead to pain and dysfunction in the affected area.
As the instrument is moved over the skin it will give a restricted or granular feeling when it encounters adheased areas which is felt by both the practitioner and the patient.
The instruments are then used to 'break-up' these restrictions. Stretching exercises will then be implemented to promote fibre re-alignment so that they function more like normal, healthy tissue.
It is more effectve in detecting and breaking up tissue adhesions than other manual techniques and results are seen in a short amount of time.
On average the number of treatments given for a particular area are between 4 - 12.
